Verizon has two innovation centers in the U.S. Basically just incubators to grow new and different uses for mobile technology beyond phones. We kept telling them they were a top flight tech company and should act like it. It took time, but they agreed. And Powerful Answers was launched.
We wanted to increase the volume of innovation for Verizon. So we built an innovation pipeline for the campaign.
Verizon liked the idea so much, they committed 10 million in startup capital as incentive. 1,300 companies participated in year one alone. TechCrunch tells that story below:
It was pretty exciting stuff to watch these innovators compete. We thought it would make a great documentary.
